Short description:
The Vinaltus - Almaj Vineyards project is the vision of oenologist Justin Urucu and it began to sprout in 2012 when he discovered old vines and rootstocks on the hills of Almaj, after a thorough study of the soil structure and climatic factors he decided to establish the plantations that would be started in 2015.
In 2018 we started the construction of the winery, a small winery designed to be able to process grapes from an area of up to 20 ha.
In 2019 we made wine for the first time in our winery, and in 2023 we completed the construction and equipment works, including a modern tasting room.
The first wines were from the premium range and were launched in 2021.
Currently the Vinaltus portfolio includes three important wine ranges:
- PICOTE (tingles, fr.) white, rose and red.
- CORVUS i.u.s.r. (super Romanian iustin urucu), white, rose and red. It is a range of wines obtained exclusively from Romanian grape varieties.
- DEMETER i.u.s.o. (iustin urucu super oltenesti) white, rose and two varieties of red wine. It is a range of premium wines obtained by combining a local grape variety with a foreign one.
