Short description:

Silvania Vineyard has been the producer of the famous sparkling wine ever since 1974 when the first lot of this sparkling wine appeared on the market. The sparkling wine SILVANIA is part of the elite of the Romanian sparkling wines obtained by the traditional elaboration method “Champenoise” that is the bottle fermentation of the wine for more than a year. Throughout this long period the temperature and level of humidity must remain steady.

These conditions are to be found only in deep and widespread caves similar to those in Magura Simleului, which is 60 metre deep under the rock and whose galleries are 3.5 km long. Simleul Silvaniei is renowned for its long-held tradition in viticulture and vinification. The wines produced in this region have naturally acquired peculiar qualities that make them suitable for producing sparkling wine by champenoise method. The wines have a relatively higher level of effervescence which makes the beverage preserve its freshness even after the three-year long champagnizing process.
