Short description:

MaxiMarc Winery is located on the hills of Maderat in Arad County and is one of the oldest vineyards in Western Romania.

At MaxiMarc, we produce premium wines that express the terroir of the Minis-Maderat vineyard, by vinifying local and international grape varieties, focusing on Mustoasa de Maderat, Cadarca, and soon on Furmint. At the same time, we want to preserve and continue the tradition of the region, developing wine tourism, and together with the other wineries making this area known at a national level and abroad.

We started vinifying the first wines in 2016 in the old winery, which is now a ripening area. Today, we process and vinify the grapes in the new construction, equipped with modern technology.

Our goal for each wine is to have the terroir in the glass. And this only happens by obtaining these shades and flavors, which help us show the potential of our vineyard.

Our symbol is a Sequoia tree in the vineyard, which was brought and planted by Baron Jozsef Dietrich in 1845. This tree still survives and is over 35 meters tall. We chose it to be our symbol because it represents our ability to grow. Its centuries-old roots represent our connection to the past.

The name of the MaxiMarc winery comes from Maximilian and Marc, children of George Țucudean, part of the family that owns the winery. We chose to use their names because they represent the future.

The motto "Where dreams become wines" was born from an idea of Marius Țucudean. He had three childhood dreams, and one of them was to own, at one point, 15 rows of vines to make his wine. Now he has fulfilled his dream.

The new winery was complete in 2019.

The development plans of MaxiMarc Winery also include wine tourism and the reconstruction of Ispravnic Castle, based on documents found in the Viennese archives. The castle will start to greet the tourists under the name of Sofia Castle. The "Sofia" part of the name was inspired by the little girl of the Tucudean family. She is also named Sofia.

The winemaker Emanuele Reolon is coordinating the winery. Together with a young team, he wants to place the Minis-Maderat vineyard again on the viticultural and tourist map, bringing it to the level it was in the Habsburg period.
