Cycling is a sport for the whole family, so there is a easier separate tour of 10 km, without fee, open to children, parents or grandparents.
The first challenge comes after just 1.5 km, when the last stretch of asphalt ends and the first weary climb begins. This climb will be on gravel road and continues until the pit stop located at km 6.5. With a difference in level of 400 m, it is the highest point of the route, and the view is truly spectacular. So far, the slope has an average leaning of 5%, reaching 15% in some parts.
The next section of the route is downhill, serpentining towards Valea Nucetului - a road covered with grass and soil, and sprinkled with a few short, steep climbs across the vineyards.
At km 13.5, after a short stretch of asphalt, the route begins to climb again on a gravel road for the last climb of 2 km across Basilescu vineyard. The average slope is 7%, and the maximum is 12%.
The final descent - on a stony road - leads back to Urlati and the last mile - on tarred surface - offers a welcome respite before the next round. (A second pit stop can be found at the start / finish).
