Our winery is part of Alexandrion Group Romania, the largest alcoholic beverage production and distribution company in Romania and owns production / storage facilities, bottling lines, controlled temperature warehouse and underground cellars. The winery in Tohani, Gura Vadului, is one of the largest wineries in the Dealu Mare region, with a processing capacity of 5000 tons per year, producing approximately 3.6 million liters and approximately 5 million bottles per year. Our vineyards total around 250 hectares of vineyards in the most fertile wine-growing regions in Romania, most of them in Dealu Mare, located in Dealurile Munteniei region.
Year after year, the wines produced have been awarded in various international competitions. The winery is the first in Romania to be awarded the Great Gold Medal at the "Brussels World Competition".
Currently, our winery sells its wines in more than 40 countries around the world and has become one of the largest Romanian exporters of bottled wine: approximately 40% of the annual production is sold abroad.
Over the years, the brands in our portfolio have been awarded at important national and international competitions such as International Wine Contest Bucharest, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, International Wine Challenge or Decanter World Wine Awards.
'Rhein & Cie Azuga 1892 Cellars', part of the Alexandrion Group portfolio, is considered the oldest location in the country where sparkling wine is produced without interruption using the traditional French method. In the cellars built above ground, with double walls, black mold and natural ventilation, visitors can fully appreciate the art of producing sparkling wine.
The Royal House of Romania appreciates the wines from our cellars for their superior quality, naming our winery Official Supplier of still and sparkling wines.
